METHOD:
Ø In
a pressure pan, add green grams, clean and wash them and add 2 cups water and 1 cup fresh coconut milk,
soak it for 10 mins and pressure cook it for 2 whistles, reduce the flame and
cook for 2 - 3 mins and off the gas.
Ø Take
jaggery in a thick bottom vessel, add 3 tbsps. Of water and cook it on a medium
flame until the jaggery is completely dissolved.
Ø Once
the pressure is released, open the lid of the pressure cooker, add the
remaining fresh coconut milk and dissolved jaggery and stir it thoroughly.
Ø Roast
the desired dry fruits in ghee, and add them to the prepared payasam.
Allow it to cool and serve it and
enjoy your dessert…
SUGGESTIONS:
ü Do
not stir the payasam too much, else it will become watery and the texture of
the payasam will be spoiled.
ü Elaichi
(cardamom powder) can also be added if desired. I avoid adding it since nobody
like that taste at my home. Add elachi powder while dissolving the jaggery.
