BEETROOT HALWA...

the best dessert made from not so interesting and of-course a boring veggie "beetroot"... i promise you will love to have beetroot  again and again once you taste this dessert....

PREP TIME: 10 MINS, COOKING TIME: 20 MINS,  SERVES: 3

INGREDIENTS:

BEETROOT (GRATED)
3
SUGAR
1 CUP
MILK
500 ML
GHEE
2 – 3 TBSPS.
DRY FRUITS
FOR GARNISH

METHOD:

Ø  Boil the 500 ml milk till the milk becomes half, off the gas and keep it aside.

Ø  Heat ghee in a thick bottom kadai, add the grated beetroot and fry it till the raw smell disappears for 5 - 10 mins. Now add the boiled milk and cook till the beetroot is cooked and the mixture gets thick on a medium flame.

Ø  Now add the sugar, stir well and cook till the sugar melts and the halwa gets thick as shown in the pic below.

Garnish it with desired dry fruits and serve it warm…

SUGGESTIONS:

ü  Make sure that the beetroot is fried in ghee perfectly, else the raw smell of the veggie will spoil the dish.

ü  Always add the dry fruits fried in ghee for the best taste.

 ü  Use only boiled milk.
