ONION UTHAPPAM.

south indian's all time favorite breakfast recipe "onion uthappam". easy to make and yummy to tatse..

PREP TIME: 5 – 10 MINS, COOKING TIME: LESS THAN 5 MINS.

INGREDIENTS:

DOSA BATTER (SOUR)
2 CUPS
ONIONS
2 MEDIUM (FINELY CHOPPED)
CHILI’S
2 (FINELY CHOPPED)
OIL
FOR DRIZZLING

METHOD:

Ø  Heat the tawa, pour a ladle of dosa batter and spread it to form thick dosa as shown in the pic below. Add chopped onions and chili’s on top of the dosa and press them gently with the spatula, drizzle few drops of oil on the dosa and cook till the base turns brown.

Ø  Now flip it on to the other side and cook for one to two minutes and transfer it on to a serving plate.

Serve it hot with your favourite chutney…

SUGGESTIONS:

ü  See to that your batter is not too loose, else it is difficult to make thick dosa’s.

ü  Add a drop of oil on dosa tawa and rub it with half chopped onion before pouring the batter. This will help you to avoid the dosa sticking to the tawa.

ü  Add onions generously. More the onions, best it tastes.
