PEANUT SESAME RICE...

yet another great treat for all those rice variety lovers.. #peanut #sesame #rice... 




PREP TIME: 15 – 20 MINS. COOKING TIME: 10 – 15 MINS.

INGREDIENTS:

RICE
1 CUP
PEANUT
1/4TH CUP
SESAME
1 ½ TBSPS.
ONIONS
2 MEDIUM
GREEN CHILI’S
2
CURRY LEAVES
10 - 15
SAMBAR POWDER
1 TBSP
SALT
TO TASTE
FRESH CORIANDER
FOR GARNISH
LEMON (OPTIONAL)
HALF

METHOD:

 Ø  Wash and soak the rice. Cook the rice and transfer the rice into a wide plate.


 Ø  Heat a kadai and add sesame’s and peanut’s and roast them till light brown. Allow it to cool, peel of the peanut skin and grind them roughly as shown in the pic below.


 Ø  Heat oil in a thick bottom kadai, add curry leaves and fry them. Now add the powdered peanut’s and fry for 2 mins and add onions and green chili’s and fry till raw smell disappears.


 Ø  Now add sambar powder, salt and saute for a 1 min. add the cooked rice and squeeze lemon, mix everything well together. Garnish with fresh coriander.


Serve it hot and enjoy your meal…

SUGGESTIONS:

 ü  You can also add more peanuts if desired.

 ü  Make sure that the peanuts and sesame’s are finely roasted.

 ü  Grated fresh coconut can also be added while adding the rice. This enhances the taste of the rice.
