MANGO MOUSSE...

it is peak mango season and my house is filled with different varieties of mangoes and their aroma... every now and then i keep thinking of making something out of mangoes and end up making delicious desserts, juice varieties and so on... i made this mango mousse two days back when wanted to eat something very sweet and since the mangoes were already at home i made this mousse and loved it... hope you will also love this recipe...

PREP TIME: 15 MINS       SET TIME: 2 – 3 HOURS  SERVES: 2

INGREDIENTS:

MANGO PUREE
1 CUP
FRESH CREAM
1 CUP
CASTER (POWDERED SUGAR)
½ CUP
GELATIN
2 TSP
WHIPPED SWEET CREAM
FOR GARNISH

METHOD:

Ø  Add gelatin to 1/4th cup warm water and rest it for 4 – 5 mins. Take the mango puree in a bowl, add caster sugar and mix well without lumps. Now add the gelatin water and mix well.

Ø  Take cream in a bowl, and whip the cream till fluffy with the electric beater or hand beater. Now add the mango puree mix to the whipped cream and mix everything together well.

Ø  Now pour the mix into the serving glasses, cover them with the foil and keep it in the fridge for 2 – 3 hours, for the mousse to set well. Take out the glasses from the fridge, remove the foil, garnish with cream and serve it chill.

SUGGESTIONS:

ü  I have used alphonsa mangoes for this recipe. Any variety of mangoes can be used.

ü  Make sure that you do not whip the cream so much that it will become hard. Beat it till the cream becomes fully.

ü  More sugar can also be added as desired.

ü  The mousse can be kept in the fridge for overnight also.
