masala rice... since we have many restricted days to have non veg at home specially on saturdays, and we don't eat a lot of veggies, my mom always prepares this variety of rice which taste like biryani and we love it a lot. so when ever we have guests on these special days when my mom doesn't allows me to cook non veg, i prepare this variety of rice...
we had guest at home today and since it is thursday and many don't eat non veg my mom prepared this for lunch... i loved it so much that i wanted to share it with you all... hope you like it...

METHOD:
Ø Wash
and soak the rice for 20 mins.
Ø Heat
oil in a pressure pan, add bay leaves, roughly crushed cinnamon sticks, cloves,
star anise and saute them. Now add chopped onions, fry till raw smell
disappears and add green chili’s and fry till brown.
Ø Now
add pudhina, fry it. Add ginger garlic paste, saute it. Now add chopped
tomatoes and cook till soft. Add salt and chili powder stir it.
Ø Once
the tomatoes are cooked, add water and allow it boil. Now add the soaked rice
and cook till the rice gets closer. Cover it with lid and cook it on low
flame for 10 mins, off the gas.
Serve it hot with your favorite
