METHOD:
Ø Clean the
prawns, add salt and turmeric powder and cook them with the water that comes
out of prawns while cooking, till all the water evaporates. (you can store the
prawns cooked like this for longer time in freezer, and use it whenever
required).
Ø Wash
and soak the basmathi rice for 15 – 20 mins.
Ø Grind
onions, green chili’s and tomatoes one by one separately into fine paste.
Ø Heat
oil in a pressure pan, add onion paste, fry till raw smell disappears and add
green chili paste and fry till brown. Now add ginger garlic paste, sauté it and
add pudhina leaves and fry it.
Ø Now
add tomato puree, and saute it till the raw smell disappears and add prawns,
garam masala, pepper powder, turmeric powder, salt, fresh coriander, ½ cup water and
cook it till the oil floats and the gravy starts sticking to the pan.
Ø Now
add 3 cups water, allow it to boil and add soaked rice and cook it until the
rice gets closer. Now cover the pressure cooker with the lid and cook the rice
for 10 mins on a completely low flame. Off the gas, open the lid once the pressure is released and stir it carefully so that the rice doesn't break.
serve it hot with your favorite raitha... :-) :-) :-)
