SAGGU BIYYAM PAYASAM...

after a long time, back with the world famous south indian sweet dish "saggubiyyam payasam"... yummy, tasty and mouth watering...  



TIME TAKEN: 30 MINS, SERVES: 4
INGREDIENTS:

SAGGUBIYYAM
1 CUP
WATER
4 CUPS
MILK
2 CUPS
SUGAR
1 CUP
DRY FRUITS
AS DESIRED

METHOD:

 Ø  Clean and wash the saggubiyyam, and add 4 cups water, and pressure cook it for one whistle and off the gas.

 Ø  Once the pressure is released, open the lid, turn on the gas and add sugar, stir it and cook it till the sugar is dissolved and starts boiling. Now turn off the gas and allow it to cool.


 Ø  Boil the 2 cups milk until it reduces to one cup. Allow it to cool. Now add the milk to the boiled saggubiyyam, stir it well and rest it for 5 – 10 mins.


Garnish it with the desired dry fruits and serve it…J

SUGGESTIONS:

ü  You can also add milk made if desired. When adding milkmaid reduce the amount of sugar added accordingly.


ü  Always fry the dry fruits in a table spoon ghee until they turn brown for a better taste.
