CHICKEN FRANKIE...

100th recipe in the blog... chicken frankie... i would like to thank you all for your wonderful support and encouragement... thank you all guys... 




TIME TAKEN: 45 MINS    MAKES: 6 FRANKIES

INGREDIENTS:

FOR DOUGH:

MAIDA
2 CUPS
SALT
TO TASTE
EGG
1
FOR STUFF:

CHICKEN (BONELESS)
150 GRAMS (CLEANED AND CUT INTO SMALL PIECES)
ONIONS
2 SMALL (FINELY CHOPPED)
GREEN CHILI’S
2 (FINELY CHOPPED)
TOMATO
1 MEDIUM (FINELY CHOPPED)
POPPY SEEDS
1 TSP
CASHEWS
4 – 5
GINGER GARLIC PASTE
1 ½ TSP
CHILI POWDER
1 ½ TSP
SALT
TO TASTE
CORIANDER POWDER
1 TSP
GARAM MASALA
½ TSP
FOR GARNISH:

ONION
2 (SLICED)
LEMON JUICE
FEW DROPS
GREEN CHILI SAUCE
6 TSPS

METHOD:

 Ø  In a bowl, take maida, add salt and egg and mix well. Now add required amount of water and make it into a soft dough and rest it for 15 – 20 mins.

 

 Ø  Heat oil in a kadai, add onions and fry for a minute, add green chili’s and fry them till brown. Add ginger garlic paste saute it and add tomato and cook till soft.


 Ø  Now add the chicken, chili powder, salt and saute it for 5 mins on medium flame.  Add 1/4th cup water cover it with a lid and cook it till the chicken is cooked softly.


 Ø  Soak poppy seeds, cashews in 1/4th cup water for 30 mins and grind it into fine paste. Once the chicken is cooked, add the cashew paste, coriander powder, garam masala and cook it for 5 – 10 mins on a medium flame till the gravy becomes thick and of the gas.

 

FOR MAKING THE ROLL:

 Ø  Make small balls of the dough and roll it into chapathi’s on a flat surface. And flip it onto a hot tawa and cook it on both sides.



 Ø  Now break a egg on one side of the chapathi, sprinkle salt and pepper powder and cook it and take it on to a plate.


 Ø  Apply 1 tsp green chili sauce on the chapathi, add 1 tbsp cooked chicken, add onions on top, squeeze lemon drop on it and roll the chapathi.


Serve it hot with tomato sauce or you can have it directly…

SUGGESTIONS:

 ü  If you want your wrap to be crispy add 2 tsps of hot oil to the maida while making dough.


 ü  Instead of adding the whole egg to the wrap, you can also just brush the egg coating on one side of the chapathi.
