FRIED IDLY



TIME TAKEN: 20 MINS
INGREDIENTS
IDLY’ S: 4
ONION: 1 LARGE
TOMATOES: 2 SMALL
GINGER GARLIC PASTE: 1 tsp
CURRY LEAVES: 10
CHILI POWDER: 1 ½ tsp
TURMERIC POWDER: A PINCH
CORIANDER POWDER: 1 tsp
CORIANDER LEAVES: FOR GARNISH

METHOD
Step 1: Heat 3 tbsp oil in a pan, cut idly’ s into cubes and roast them till light brown.

Step 2: Heat oil in a pan, temper mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal and curry leaves, add finely chopped onions, fry till brown, add ginger garlic paste and fry.

Step 3: Now add chopped tomatoes, chili powder, salt, turmeric powder and little water and cook till thick gravy is formed. Add coriander powder.

Step 4: Add the roasted idly cubes to the above masala and mix it completely. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.

SUGGETIONS

Roast the idly cubes in a non stick pan, so that the idly doesn’t stick to the pan.
