THOTAKURA PULLAKURA

a curry that is rich in nutrition's and very healthy




PREP TIME: 20 MINS
INGREDIENTS

ONION
1 SMALL OR 1/2
TOMATO

THOTA KURA (ARAI KIRRA)(AMARATH LEAVES)
1 BUNCH
GREEN CHILI’S
4 - 5
TURMERIC POWDER
A PINCH
RAW MANGO PIECES
4 – 5 SMALL PIECES
SALT
TO TASTE
MUSTARD SEEDS
½ tsp
CUMIN SEEDS (JEERA)
½ tsp
CURRY LEAVES

GARLIC CLOVES (CRUSHED)

METHOD

 Ø  Wash thotakura, drain the water and chop it roughly. Add cut tomatoes, chili’s, chopped thotakura, pinch of turmeric powder, 1 cup water and pressure cook it for 2 - 3 whistles.

  Ø  Once cooked, add salt and mash it till soft.

  Ø  Heat oil in a pan, temper mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, garlic cloves and add the cooked thotakura to it. Cook until boil.

Serve it with hot rice and ghee.

SUGGESTIONS:

ü  You can also use tamarind instead of raw mango. If using tamarind add it finally and allow it to boil.
