RAVA LADDU

a sweet dish which can be done quickly and easily... very nutritious and tasty and a great treat to kids...




TIME TAKEN: 30 MINS, MAKES: 35 LADDU ‘S

METHOD:

ROASTED RAVA (SOOJI)
2 ½ CUP
SUGAR
2 CUPS
GRATED DRY COCONUT
1 ½ CUP
GHEE
½ CUP
BOILED MILK
1 CUP
CASHEWS (DRY GRAPES CAN ALSO BE ADDED. I HAVE NOT USED THEM SINCE I DON’T LIKE THEM)
AS DESIRED

INGREDIENTS:

 Ø  Heat ghee in a huge kadai, fry the dry grapes and cashews and keep them aside. Now add rava in the kadai and roast for 5 mins. (stir it continuously).



 Ø  Now add grated coconut and fry till light brown (stir it continuously), now add sugar mix it thoroughly and off the gas.



 Ø  Add the fried dry fruits, half cup hot milk (boiled) and mix everything well together.



 Ø  When it is hot (bearable by you) take small portions of the mix and make them into laddu’s  with your hand. When you feel you couldn’t form proper laddu’s , add little hot milk to it and mix it well and form laddu’s.



SUGGESTIONS:

 ü  Store it in air tight container so that they stay fresh.

 ü  Can store it for 1 week  - 10 days.

 ü  You can also add cardamom powder if desired while adding cashews and milk.
